It is every married couples wish to have a child and the preparation for this moment starts right from the conception to the time of birth. Conception should ideally be carried out during the days after ovulation takes place because this is the time when there is 100% likelihood for your better half to get impregnated. Prenatal care needs to be taken by the mother to ensure that the baby get enough nourishment so that its growth is not hampered. The ninth month is where you need to worry about contractions and the labor and delivery pains. You need to go in for regular medical checkup so that your doctor can pinpoint the date when you are going to deliver and you can then be ready.

After the birth of the baby and the homecoming ceremony comes the time when you need to baptize your child and give him/her a name. The list of names is long and there are many popular baby names that crowd the list. Names like Aaron, Deborah, Alicia, Aiden, Barbara etc are some of the popular baby names that have been seen in the year 2009.

My Business

Filed under: Arts And Humanities — smitha @ 12:17 pm

I run a little shop which sells all sorts of computer bits. It is great fun and it means that I can get all sorts of great parts at cheap prices. I am often buying things off myself so that I can experiment with them. Lately I have had a big order of printed circuit boards and I have taken a few homes. I always think that it is a good idea to try the goods out myself because I can give the customers feedback on how I found the items were to use and how flexible they were as well as whether I thought they were good value for money. I did this with the last shipment of flexible circuit boards that we had in and I was able to tell the customers that I thought they were really good value for money and I sold out really quickly. I am never afraid to return a selection of goods if I think that they are not providing me with a good product and so my customers know that what they are buying is good and has been tested by me first. I think that it is a great way to run a small business and it brings great rewards as my customers keep coming back and my business is thriving even in the recession.

New Bedding

Filed under: Arts And Humanities — smitha @ 8:18 pm

My children are beginning to grow out of their infant bedding now and I am wondering what to get for them instead. I quite like the idea of getting them a duvet now because it will keep them much warmer and will make it a lot easier for them to be able to make their own beds. I love the baby crib bedding sets and the things for toddlers but I know that I will have to stop looking at those and draw myself away to look at something much more grown up. I do not really want to have to keep replacing their bedding all of the time and so I have been looking at getting them something which will last them about ten years or so. My oldest son is keen on some sports bedding but I know that he might change his mind about what team he likes as he gets older and so I want to avoid that sort of thing if I can. I would prefer it if they chose something with a pattern or a neutral colour and it would be great if they matched each other so that their room would look nice. I guess I am asking a lot but I am a perfectionist!

Finding Something Original

Filed under: Arts And Humanities — smitha @ 8:12 pm

I am trying to decide what type of Christmas cards to send out this year. Last year I got a selection of cards that I liked from various friends and I was hoping to do something similar myself this year. Normally I just get something quite boring but it would be nice to go for something a bit more original. I was thinking of some Christmas photo cards as I know that quite a few of my family would like to see how my children are growing up. The problem is that I am not sure that they will be appropriate for my friends, especially the ones at the office because they do not even know my family. I am having a big party and I was also considering combining the cards with my Christmas invitations to save on money and postage but I will have to think hard of how to actually do that practically. Also not everyone I send cards to will be invited. I think it may be a case of doing a combination of different cards for different people and hoping that whoever they are, they will get something a bit more original from me this year.

Hand craft supplies

Filed under: Arts And Humanities — smitha @ 5:39 pm

If you are a lover of craft and like hand made things, then crocheting can be enjoyable because it can provide you with so many gifting options. Purses, sweaters, bag, blankets; there are so many things that you can create and gift your loved ones. For learning crochet all you require is a thread and a single crochet hook or needle. But once you start liking it, there is a range of crochet supplies that you will need like threads, hooks of different sizes, yarns, buttons, and crochet books.

For making sweaters, jackets or heavy weight items like blankets, normal yarns will not work as these times have big stitches. You will have to use bulky weight yarn, which is also called chunky yarn. This yarn is used for knitting or crocheting thick sweaters, jackets, coats or other winter items. For these yarns, size 10 knitting needles or 6 to 6.5 mm crochet needles are used. One can get a range of colors in chunky yarns; from pastel colors to bright colors. These thick yarns are also available in many textures depending on the material. Cashmere yarn is soft and is used mainly for throw blankets or scarves. While wool and wool with acrylic yarns have coarser texture.

Crochet hooks are also available in many materials like plastic, wood, aluminum, steel. While plastic hooks are light in weight, aluminum is a popular choice of many people as it provides a smooth surface on which the yarn can slide through.

A Quiet Life

My husband is always cross that his brother had a great drum kit and stagg cymbols when he was a child. He said he would have liked to have had some music lessons and been able to play in a band as well. I am sure that he parents were glad that he didn’t insist and ask – they could have made a great band together if they had beginner electric guitars and practised together. Imagine the noise though – I would find a set of drums enough let alone anything else. My husband now wants the children to learn an instrument and was keen to get the electric guitar kits. I have managed to convince him so far that it is not a good idea so far, especially as we live in a terraced house and have a lot of neighbours which I do not want to upset! I think that we make a lot of noise as it is what with two sets of stairs to stomp up and down and two young children I think that we need to be careful as it is. They are very understanding at the moment but I am sure their patience will wear thin eventually.
